Museum of Retro and Military Vehicles is one of the best private museums in Europe and Russia.
First Private Museum of Retro and Military Vehicles was founded in 2004.For four years the museum collection has increased in several times. The most valuable exhibits are placed in showrooms of the new six-floors building constructed in style of XIX-th century architecture. There is a great collection of retro cars of the world famous brands: Ford (1907), "Horch" (1937-1939), "Mercedes", "Alpha Romeo", the BMW, "Wanderer", "Cadillac" of first half of XX-th century, which you will not find even in specialized exhibitions. The special pride of the Museum is a collection of the Limousines which were belonged to statesmen of the different countries, including Stalin's armored Limousine.
The second part of collection consists of Military Vehicles and Armament such as combat aircrafts (Yak-9, Hurricane, Republic F-84F Thunderstreak and many others), tanks (T-55A, T-62, T-72, T80-B and many others) anti-tank guns (BC-3, D-44, D-48), self-propelled guns (“Nona-K”,” Nona-C”), howitzers (2C1 “Gvozdika”, 2C3 “Akacia”), Multiple rocket launcher “Grad”, self propelled mortar “Tyulpan” and many others.
The main distinction of this museum from others is possibility not just look on it but touch everything and even climb on all combat vehicles, make pictures on your favorite tank or multiple rocket launcher “Grad. We offer you to try Russian army uniform and have a ride in armored personnel carrier. You will have great pictures and unforgettable memories.
Each piece of museum exposition can tell its own story. For example, Mercedes 300 SL – a car of Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly or Ford T – the grandfather of assembly line car production. Tank T-72, which belonged to Taman division, has very interesting history. In August of 1991 this tank was in Manege Square and Boris Yeltsin, first elected Russian president, talked to people from the top of this tank during democratic demonstration.
If you get hungry you can try traditional combat field kitchen menu - buckwheat porridge with meet, bread and sweet tea.
